Sitting in the airport in Baltimore. I have never been to Baltimore before and from what I see (the trees, the ground, the sky) it is a lovely place.

I am flying AirTran this holiday season. I have never used this airline before and so far, I really like it. I paid a minimal cost to upgrade my ticket to Business Class. Ended up in Seat 1A. Nice large seat, first class amenities, first on, first off, etc.

Actually, the cost breaks down this way: Paying to check my suitcase was $20. To upgrade to Business Class was $49 but it is free to check my suitcase. So for $29 extra dollars, I get to upgrade my ticket. Not a bad deal!

Why is this posting called Wi-Fi? Because, after that short intro, I want to file a complaint about Wi-Fi at airports. Most airports I have flown into, and there have been several, you can connect to the internet for free. No cost. Just log in, your laptop finds the network and you connect.

When I flew out of Dulles in October, I found out that it costs to connect to the internet. I’m sorry but I refuse to pay to connect the what should be free especially when I am only going to be sitting for an hour or so.

Now I am sitting at the Baltimore airport and it is the same thing. I have to pay $7.50 to connect to the Internet and I am only going to be sitting her for about an hour. What the hell?????

The Internet is free in Portland, Boston, Grand Rapids and various other airports. Why charge for something that is so cheap to operate and so helpful to travelers? Are you, the airports that charge, THAT greedy?

I think I am going to find a catalog of the airports that charge for Wi-Fi and try to avoid flying into them. There are other ways to get to where I want to go without having to use their services.

By the way, I am typing this up in a Word document and will post it when I get to my sister’s house. Because Wi-Fi is free there. Unless she tries to charge me but, if she does, I will take back the Christmas cookies I gave her. So there!
