Beyond Belief

I have been beyond belief busy over the weekend. The grand plan is to leave Tuesday morning for Michigan to spend Christmas with my sister and her family. But in order to leave for a week, I have to make sure that things are covered at work (all the bills paid, supplies that need to be ordered have been ordered, and all the sniggly details that make up my job have been resolved). Then I have to make sure that my responsibilities at church are delegated to other volunteers so that, for instance, Pastor turns on his microphone at the Christmas Eve service, it actually goes on. Then I have to do all the other Christmasy things that are part of the season.

It feels like I haven’t sat down and taken a breath since sometime last week and that probably won’t happen until I get on the plane. Luckily, I have several lists to consult and to cross things off as I get them done. It is entirely satisfying to see a full list with almost all the items either checked or crossed through. Someday I may go into more detail as to why I love lists so much and the various lists I have running in my life.

So time is rushing forward, items are being handled and Christmas will be here before we notice. As the final days progress, let’s take a moment to sit, take a deep breath, say a prayer and relax…….
