Vacation!

I am on vacation this week.  August 9 through the 13.  I wanted to mention this on Sunday but with Aunt Mildred passing away, I felt that writing exciting postings about my vacation plans would be inappropriate.

Not that I am going anywhere for my vacation.  I’m just going to work on stuff around the apartment, do some church stuff, read some books and watch a few movies.  I just want to relax and spend some time doing what I want, when I want.

Today, for instance, I slept in, sat around all morning watching the news, reading the paper and doing the crossword puzzle (I finished it).  Then I cleaned out the recycling, cleaned the bathroom and scrubbed all the floors.  After those two hours of work, I decided it was time to sit around until I have to leave for the Church Council meeting tonight.

Ah…vacation.  I know, I should be traveling somewhere, fighting the lines and living out of a suitcase so that I can relax on a beach somewhere and do some sightseeing.  But there are plenty of beaches in Maine and plenty of sights to see and I don’t have to travel too far to do that stuff.  If I choose to do it. Because this vacation is about doing what I want, when I want.
