Today’s Thoughts (3/21/10)

Just a few thoughts at the end of the day:

–        Took the plastic off my windows yesterday.  As I mentioned in the previous post, it was 70 degrees outside.  With the plastic on my living room windows, the temperature really rises and it becomes like a green house.  So the plastic came off, storm windows went up in the kitchen and the cats were able to sit on the windowsills and breathe in fresh air for the first time since the fall.  They really liked that.  Of course, we will probably get a blizzard this week and that will be all my fault.  Saturday was a fluke, weather wise.  Now the temperature is going to return to close to normal and, from what the long range forecast says, be actually below normal next weekend.  Oh well.  Summertime is coming…someday.

–        Went to see The Bounty Hunter today.  Good movie.  A little convoluted at times but overall entertaining and some spots were really funny.

–        About the way Jennifer Aniston dressed in the movie… I kind of wonder why a tough reporter who is so intent on getting a story, as in Jennifer Aniston’s character, would run around in a low cut dress with a short skirt and ridiculously high heels.  I mean, I don’t know of any woman who wears shoes like that for work.  I also don’t think that a woman can be taken seriously in her job when dressed in that manner.  It is appropriate for going out in the evening but not for working in an office.  I knew one woman who dressed like that at an office I used to work at and the woman were jealous of her (that she looked like that) and the men saw her as a sex object.  In other words, no one took her seriously.  I think the makers of the movie really need to get out of Hollywood and see how women dress in the real world.

–        In a preview of possible future postings, I had a very educational weekend.  I saw a show about genealogy on Friday night, a show about Istanbul on Saturday and my pastor mentioned something about the history of monasteries at church this morning.  All of these would make great subjects for future postings.  Just wanted to mention it.

I think that is all for tonight.  Hope everyone had a good weekend!!
