Today’s Thoughts (3/5/10)

So it is Friday.  End of another week.  Just a few thoughts….

– On NBC Nightly News, they showed an animation of the guy who tried to shoot up the Pentagon.  Before they showed the animation, they showed a posting he did on-line. This guy was of European descent (i.e. white) and was clean shaven and looked like he had brown hair.  In the animation, they showed him as a man with dark hair and a beard.  Very Middle Eastern like.  I am curious as to why they did this.  Was it to make him look more like what the American public think of as a terrorist?  NBC wouldn’t do that, would they?  Would they try to scare us into thinking it was a terrorist attack rather than the act of a man who was mentally ill?  I don’t know….which is why I’m asking the questions.

– On a different note, I have the bean supper at church tomorrow so I had to get all the power points for the church services done this evening.  That meant I had to think of something for dinner that would be quick and wouldn’t require me to cook.  Pizza!  The problem with that thought is that I am having a problem finding a pizza place that will make pizza that is good.  Well, as good as I make when I make my own pizza.  I have tried all of them.  Except Little Caesars  I decided to try that since it is, after all, hot and ready when I walk in the door.  Sure enough!  Hot and ready.  What was it like, besides convenient?  Eh.  The only good thing about it was that it was hot and ready.  A frozen pizza from the store would have tasted better.  So I can cross that place off my list of pizza places.  There are a couple of more places to try. I’ll let you know if I find a good one, in case you are ever in this area and want to get a good pizza.

– My niece, Micah, is celebrating her 6th birthday next Tuesday.  I asked my sister what she would like for her birthday.  She said Micah wants a butterfly net and a pot of gold.  Gotta love a 6 year old’s mind!  I pointed out to her that, if she had the butterfly net, she could capture the leprechaun and get her own pot of gold.  But, if she did, I would like it if she would split it with me!  She is so cute!  I think I might get her the new Barbie DVD that is coming out next week.  It will be late for her birthday but she would really like that.  Unless I can find her something with Tinkerbell on it.  That is another favorite of hers.

– This is a busy month for birthdays.  My niece, Anna, is having her birthday (12th, I think) and little Elizabeth (Anna and Micah’s sister) is turning one!  Elizabeth will be easy to buy for but Anna will probably be challenging.  Unless my sister will let her get her ears pierced.  Maybe I can drop hints in that direction.  Then I can get her a bunch of earrings.

Well I guess that is all for Friday night.  Time to get some rest.  Busy day tomorrow!!
