Watching the Beans

I am sitting at church cooking the beans for the bean supper tonight.  Pretty lonely task since only one person is needed to watch the beans and stir them.  I already have two pies made (apple and coconut cream).  I was going to make a third pie but the can of pumpkin I found in the back of my pantry was dated 2006.  I didn’t notice this until I started making the pie.  Normally I would just use the pumpkin anyway because it is probably ok.  But, since I am cooking for the public, I felt it was best not to even guess at whether or not the pumpkin was good.  So I only did the two pies and tossed the pumpkin.  Other people are making pies so we should have enough.  Besides we have ice cream in the freezer we can serve if we run out of other stuff.

So here I am.  Waiting for the beans to cook.  Waiting for other people to show up to do other prep work.  Waiting for time to pass.  And posting a pretty boring item to my blog.  Just because I am bored and sitting here.  Aren’t you glad I share how my day is going???

People just showed up to start working.  So I guess I shall post this and get back to work.  Beans need stirring….
