Snowstorm?

Ok…someone is playing a joke on us. We had an incredibly mild winter. Warm temperatures, precipitation in the form of rain, absolutely pleasant weather.

Today, March 1st, when it is almost spring, we have a HUGE snowstorm. Not huge in a blizzard like storm. But huge in the amount of snow we have received. From my estimation, we have over 10 inches on the ground. TEN INCHES!! Yikes!

Actually it is very pretty. Soft and clean. And it fell gently all day. Compared to the nasty storms they are having down south, this is nothing.

Besides, it is easier to handle this much snow when it is March 1st. It’s not like the snow storm we had in October, which was the last really significant snowfall, when it seemed like it was a sign that winter would be really bad this year. Turned out that prediction was wrong.

One thing that does concern me is that if this winter was so mild and warm, what is it going to be like around here in July? Are we going to have the hottest summer on record for the state of Maine? Good thing I have air conditioning!!
