Today’s Thoughts (2/5/12)

A few thoughts at the end of the weekend:

– Yesterday was the monthly Bean Supper at church. It went really well! 49 guests fed along with 14 volunteers. The beans were just right…perfectly cooked and tasty. Always an iffy thing with the beans when I come in on Saturday morning and they are dried in bags. But, after boiling, soaking, seasoning and slow cooking them, they were just what they were supposed to be…baked beans! We also had 12 deserts (11 pies plus a tray of cupcakes) that were very well received. All in all, a wonderful meal!

– Today, being the day after the bean supper, I kind of laid low after church. It takes a lot out of me to be at church all day on Saturday and making all that food, not to mention making the major decisions. So I usually nap and rest the next day…which is what I did today!

– I put flowers on the altar for today in remembrance of my Dad. More on that in a future posting.

My mind is slowly melting away into complete exhaustion so I think it is time to toddle off to bed. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
