Thunderstorm!

There is a thunderstorm just west of here. I hear the rumbling and the sky is so dark that it looks like twilight even though it is only 5:30 in the afternoon.

I love thunderstorms. The wind, rain, lightening and booming thunder just thrills me. It’s like nature is putting on a show and I get to experience it first hand, free of charge.

Granted, storms can be dangerous and do cause damage. But they are also a part of life and I figure it is better to enjoy them than to despise them or fear them.

As I said the storm is just west of here. According to the radar, it seems to be skirting us and heading north. As I was walking from my kitchen into the living room, I looked at the dark gray clouds outside and said, “would you just thunderstorm already??”. Just then, BOOM!, a big thunderclap. It made me laugh. I guess I shouldn’t be so impatient with nature otherwise it will show me who is in charge of this event.

It sounds like it is getting closer so I had better get off the computer. Time to sit and watch the storm approach and relish every flash, boom and gust of wind!
