I think I will do a follow up posting to my last three postings in reverse order:
-
It was allergies yesterday. Today I feel fine. No sneezing. No coughing. I was thinking about it driving home from church and it occurred to me that everyone seemed to be mowing their lawns yesterday. My next door neighbor has a huge yard and I heard him working on it most of the day. Plus I heard other lawn mowers running in the neighborhood. And that would have triggered my allergies. All that grass being cut and moved around. Oh well. Such is life

Have you noticed that things that are important to you will attract your attention? If you are into sports, then any sports information on the news will catch your eye. If you like murder mysteries, you will probably DVR the Dateline episodes on murder. I not only wanted to be a teacher when I was growing up but I have a number of friends and relatives who are teachers. I think that is why the news about teacher’s jobs being cut really caught my eye and inspired me to write a posting in my blog. Most of the teachers I know are dedicated loving individuals who have a passion for teaching children. They aren’t in it for the money, which is obvious since you can’t get rich doing it, but are in it for the love of it. Not only that but they spend their own money and their own time trying to be the best teachers they can be. Knowing this about teachers makes me wonder why we treat them the way we do. They should be the most respected members of society. Paid the most money. Given the most attention and support. Instead we love, respect and pay attention to celebrities and sports figures. And that is a really screwed up way of doing things. Oh well. Such is life.

About boring jobs….I wonder how much of our lives are spent in boredom and not just on the job. How much of our time is spent doing stupid, time-sucking things in order not to be bored? How much of our time, in order to escape boredom, is spent doing things like surfing the Internet, playing around in Facebook, watching inane TV, or driving around aimlessly? We only have a certain number of years, months, days, hours and minutes to live our lives. Shouldn’t we value every second and use it to our best advantage? Then again, doing important things all the time can be tiring and maybe we need the silly things to help us relax and rest in order to have the energy to do the important things. I guess we need both the inane and the important in order to provide balance in our lives. I think that is how it works. Oh well. Such is life.
Such is Life. Allergies, injustice and boredom. Actually, all three of those are kind of depressing even if they are facts of life. I’ll try to write something more cheerful tomorrow.
