Today’s Thoughts (04/18/10)

Just a few thoughts on a Sunday evening:

–        Went to see Date Night yesterday with a bunch of friends.  VERY funny movie! With most movies, the funny parts of the movie are shown in the previews and the rest of the movie is just ok.  This movie’s funniest (is that a word?) parts weren’t shown in the previews (one of the most hilarious car chase scenes I’ve ever seen) and we laughed out loud throughout the movie. I highly recommend it!

–        Speaking of going to the movies with friends – we went to a theater where they serve food during the movie.  Dinner and a movie.  We arrived about a half hour before the movie so we could order the food before the previews started.  That was the grand plan.  We ended up having to send the waiter away over and over again because we just hadn’t looked at the menu. We were too busy chatting and catching up on our lives.  Poor guy.  We gave him big tips to help make up for the inconvenience of serving a bunch of gabby women.

–        In the search for a house to buy, I receive updates from my real estate agent through e-mail.  Yesterday one was sent and the price of the house was $1,400.  Yes, one thousand four hundred dollars!  I clicked on the link and it is a beautiful cape on the ocean in Biddeford.  Three bedrooms and two and half baths. Gorgeous!  I promptly e-mailed my realtor and told her I would take it! I would write a check since I got paid on Friday! She wrote back a while later and said the price had been adjusted.  $1,400,000.  Bummer!  Of course, I knew that was the actual price.  I just thought it was pretty funny to see such a great house, on the ocean, at such a ridiculously low price.  I can only imagine what the owners thought if they had seen it listed that way.  That would be shocking enough to give someone a heart attack!!
