No Power

I lost power last night.  I was going to post to this blog until I realized that with no power, I can’t connect to the Internet. So I went to bed instead.

It was a bizarre storm.  Just rain on the coast of Maine and VERY strong winds.  50 to 60 mph!  Took out trees all over the place. It was good for us because we didn’t get the snow that they had south of here but bad because the winds did more than enough damage.

Just for the record, I don’t do well without power.  I miss checking my e-mail, I miss being able to turn on lights, I miss the heat.  Yeah…no heat just basically sucks!

I did find it interesting that I consistently flipped the light switch on every time I went into the bathroom.  Then, just to complete the cycle, I flipped it back down as I was leaving the bathroom.  I did all this while holding  a flashlight. That made me laugh each time I did it.

My power came on at 4:24 pm today.  SO happy!!!  Had to reset a bunch of clocks but that was a joy since I actually had power and the clocks were working.  Except for the VCR clock.  I can’t remember how to re-set it and decided, in a moment of frustration, to just ignore it. But the blinking 12:00 was driving me nuts so I put duct tape over it.  Duct tape…the cure all for everything!
