Today’s Thoughts (12/31/09)

Here are some thoughts on the last day of 2009:

– We are supposed to get a major snow storm this weekend.  I’m struggling with trying to decide whether or not to cancel the monthly bean supper at church.  If the weather is really bad and we get over a foot of snow, I should cancel it.  But if the storm goes out to sea or just isn’t that bad, we should have the supper.  I can’t decide.  I guess I’ll keep an eye on the weather forecast and discuss it with my pastor tomorrow.  I have to make a decision before tomorrow night because that is when the beans are soaked.  Don’t know what we would do with 10 pounds of soaked beans if we cancel the supper.  Oh well.  I’ll make the decision tomorrow.

– Went to see “It’s Complicated” today.  The movie was really good!!  Meryl Streep was wonderful as was Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.  Some parts of the movie were incredibly funny and other parts were incredibly poignant.  I really recommend it.

– My brother and I are planning on celebrating Christmas tomorrow.  We have decided to have our Christmas on New Year’s Day since it is too stressful to try to do it before I leave for Michigan and Ted really doesn’t want to go to Michigan to celebrate with the rest of us on Christmas Day.  So we are doing our gift exchange and dinner tomorrow.  Thai food this year.  I have never made Thai food but I have recipes and ingredients and I will figure it out.  A friend pointed out that I could have just ordered take out.  But this should be fun.  I love cooking and it’s not the usual thing I would cook.
