Today’s Thoughts (11/30/09)

Here are some thoughts at the end of the day…and the end of the month:

– I think that the couple that crashed the state dinner at the White House should be in jail.  Now.  Not later. They trespassed.  They lied to White House officials.  They, and everyone like them, need to know that there are limits to self centered, egotistical and narcissistic behavior. They should have been arrested as soon as this came to light and be kept in jail until their trial.  And they should not be able to profit from their atrocious behavior.  No book deals. No movie deals.  No reality TV shows.  Just jail time and then obscurity.

– I bought a new robe and slippers this evening.  I went to the store to find something to wear to the company holiday dinner and ended up buying a robe and slippers.  I don’t think I can wear them to the holiday dinner although I certainly would be the most comfortable person there!

– Turkey.  Am sick and tired of turkey!  That’s all I can say about that.

– Here is a lesson not learned.  A year or so ago, I burned my hand on the upper rack of the oven when I was pulling something from the lower rack.  Not a big deal except that I didn’t put a bandage on it and, a few days later, it itched, I scratched and tore the blister right off of it.  Needless to say, it left quite a nice scar once it finally healed.  On Thanksgiving, I burned my finger when it touched the roof of the oven when I was trying to adjust the temperature probe in the turkey.  Yeah, I know, should have been wearing a pot holder.  But I didn’t and I burned myself.  On Sunday, a few days after, my finger itched, I scratched and tore the blister right off of it.  Now I have a new scar forming.  That is twice now.  Hopefully I have learned my lesson.  Use a pot holder when dealing with a hot oven.  And, if I do burn myself, cover it with a bandage so it can heal without a scar.  I hope the lesson has been learned but, knowing me, a year or so from now it will probably happen again.

That is all for tonight, the last day of November in the year 2009.  Twenty five days to Christmas and thirty one days to the end of the year!!
