Thoughts for Today – 9/3/13

Been a while since I did a Thoughts for Today posting. But thoughts have occurred today and here they are:

– A couple of my friends complimented me on my lipstick on Sunday. Said it was a nice shade. For some reason it made me think of an advertisement for lipstick where a woman said something along the lines of sometimes lipstick makes her lips enter a room long before she walks in. Sort of like “Here’s Julie’s lips!”. It stuck with me because my name is Julie and also because sometimes the wrong lipstick will make my lips WAY to obvious. They are somewhat on the fuller side anyway and don’t need much lipstick to make them stand out. In other words, sometimes I wear the lipstick and sometimes the lipstick wears me!

– I am reading a wonderful, WONDERFUL book called “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society”. It is for the book club at church. It is one of those books that I am savoring and really don’t want it to end. So I only read a little at a time and then put the book down to contemplate what I just read. I need to have it done by September 28th so I have plenty of time to finish it. So I am going to continue to savor it.

– There is a character in the book called Billie Bee. That is her first name. LOVE that name. I want to name a dog that name. I would name a child that, if I had a child someday, but that might just be cruel. It is a great name but I don’t believe in naming any child a name where they could get made fun of and mocked. But it would be a great name for a dog. “Here, Billie Bee!!” It would be perfect!

I think that is all for now. Notice this is the second posting for the month and it is only the third. I’m doing better!!
