“Seeing” Photos

I am not sure why this popped in my head but it did so I thought I would share it. What would it be like if every picture that was taken of you enabled you to see? What I mean is, you would be able to see whatever your photo is looking at no matter where it is located.

For example, say that your grandmother has a picture of you in a frame on her piano. You could think about that picture and then see what that picture is looking at. Your grandmother sitting in her favorite chair and knitting. Or sitting in her nightgown at night and watching TV.

What if your picture was in someone’s wallet and, if they open their wallet, you can see them purchasing a can of soda or paying for their dinner?

I thought of this because I was eating lunch and I glanced at the window and saw my friend’s daughter’s picture sitting on the chest in front of the window. Essentially she was looking at me. What would it be like if, just by thinking of it, she could see me sitting there? Creepy…isn’t it?

What if we had an ability in our brains to think of a picture we knew existed of ourselves and we could see what that picture was seeing? You could watch your boyfriend/girlfriend in their apartment. You could watch your children go about their days. Or, if you were famous and thought about your picture hanging on fans’ wall, you could see them gazing longingly at you and you wouldn’t even know who they were!

Now that I have written all this down, it kind of creeps me out. And it makes me want to make sure I am always well behaved and properly dressed in front of pictures. Just in case…
