Today’s Thoughts (7/29/12)

A few thoughts that have been bouncing around on a Sunday night:

– The Olympics have begun!! I was planning on writing about the opening and then various events the day they happened but I have been so busy watching events, and still trying to do the things I am supposed to do in my life, that I haven’t had a chance to write. I will write about it very soon, I promise!

– I believe my cat is afraid of the dark. Why do I say this? Because he has taken to sleeping in the bathroom on the rug in front of the toilet. Did I mention that the bathroom is the only light I leave on at night? So Cupid the Cat sleeps in the bathroom now. Of course it may not just be because it is the only room with the light on but he is also near to his food and water (right outside the bathroom door) and his kitty litter (which is in the bathroom). Maybe he’s just getting old and likes to be near things he needs in case he needs them in the middle of the night. Although he is only 12 years old. Is that old for a cat???? Or has he just become Cupid the Scaredy Cat????

– Today was the last Sunday I served as worship assistant at church until the next time I am due to serve…which I believe is in November. I normally am not scheduled for July. I usually do May and November each year. But we have started a new liturgy and Pastor decided that we should print the music in the bulletin so everyone could learn it. Since he wanted everyone to concentrate on that, he also decided we wouldn’t be doing power points until at least August. The first Sunday in July, I actually sat in the pews with the rest of the congregation. Didn’t quite know what to do with myself. Then the person who was scheduled for July asked me if I could be worship assistant instead of her since her work schedule had changed. I said I would be happy to do that! Because, apparently, after 3 1/2 years of running the power points each Sunday, I am incapable of just sitting during a service. I am more comfortable either being worship assistant or running the power point. So I was grateful for the opportunity to be worship assistant so I wouldn’t be sitting in the pews fidgeting during the service for the whole month of July. Next week? Back to the balcony! Yeah!
