Here are some thoughts for today, June 6, 2012 or 6-6-12 or 6+6=12 (just pointing that out):
– I saw a picture of Abraham Lincoln on the evening news. They were discussing some writings that were found that were written by the doctor who treated Lincoln after he had been shot. In looking at the picture of Lincoln, I realized that he would never have been elected in this day and age. He wasn’t the most handsome of men. Bony, thin, hair was messy, didn’t seem to smile much, kind of mournful looking. Can you imagine him on stage, in front of cameras, debating Mitt Romney? Of course, he probably wouldn’t have even gotten that far. I don’t think he would have raised that much money so his campaign wouldn’t have taken off. Yet he was one of our greatest presidents. I guess, maybe, we ought to re-think our criteria as to who would make a great president. Just a thought.
– My poor cat, Cupid, was scared out if his mind today. I had the windows open because it FINALLY stopped raining and the sun was shining and I wanted to air out the place. He was sitting in the window watching the world when the guy who mows our lawns came by with the lawn mower. Scared the crap out of poor Cupid. He ran to a different window and then the lawn mower came by that one. So he went to another window and the same thing happened. He finally ended up sitting by my chair, looking up at me with scared little eyes and pleaded with me to make it go away. Poor baby. I let him sit by my feet until the mean, nasty lawn mower went away. It finally quieted down outside and he was able to curl up and go to sleep. All that scariness wore him right out.
– I have had some wonderful ideas lately to write about in this blog. Unfortunately, the ideas come to me when I am driving. Since texting and driving is very dangerous and against the law, I am thinking that writing in my blog and driving would also be very dangerous and possibly against the law. Although that would probably come under the heading of distracted driving. Like the woman they caught driving on the turnpike and watching Gilmore Girls on her laptop at the same time. She said it kept her awake. Right. So she is sleepy AND distracted. Great combination there. But, back to the blog, I am thinking that I should record my thoughts and then write them down when I get home. That way my thoughts would actually make it into the blog, I would post more and my guilt over not posting would go away. I’ll try to remember to do the recording thing when I come up with a brilliant subject. After all, I do have an app on my phone for that. Must remember, must remember, must remember (that is me trying to memorize this idea).
That is all for this Wednesday night. Sleep well, pleasant dreams….
