Today’s Thoughts (1/7/12)

A few thoughts in a middle of a busy weekend:

– Yesterday was Epiphany. For those who don’t know…Epiphany is the holiday in the church calendar where we celebrate the Wisemen visiting the Christ Child.  I would have said the three Magi but there is some dispute as to how many there were. They brought three gifts but that doesn’t necessarily mean there were only three of them. Anyway, we had a pot luck, an informal service and the burning of the greens last night at church. Not sure why we burned the greens other than we have for the past few years. I will try to find out why and write about it at some point.

– Today was our monthly free bean supper at church. Everything went well, as usual. We served 58 people. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and, especially, the pies!

– I am going to have to head to bed pretty quickly. My arthritis is acting up. I was exposed to a nasty cold this week and I was wondering if I was going to come down with bronchitis again. Nope…instead my immune system is going haywire and I have several joints that are swollen, painful and stiff. Not to mention I have a mild fever. Knowing the nature of the beast that is arthritis, I know that with a good night’s sleep, I will feel better by tomorrow morning. But I need to get to bed to get that good night’s sleep.

– One more thought, tomorrow is church then I am helping someone get to the second service and then having lunch with her and her husband. Looking forward to it! Then on Monday is our monthly free lunch at church and I am helping out with that. Pretty busy weekend, church wise!

That is all. Time for bed before I feel worse. Good night!!!
