500!!!!!!!

Wow!!!

This is the 500th posting I have made to Thoughts Like Grapes!!!

Let us have a moment of silence for this momentous occasion………..

Ok….enough of that.

When I opened the blog up tonight I was going to write about other things. My car troubles, my computer woes, chopping onions (seriously, this will be a point of discussion soon), blessings of friends, etc. A number of thoughts are bouncing around like grapes tonight.

But then I noticed the number of this blog and that has trumped all other subject matter. I mean, am I really that opinionated and vocal that I could think of 500 separate postings in a little over two and a half years? I find that hard to believe but it must be true because here I am!

I’m not so sure the purpose of this blog is to express my opinions as much as it is to write. I really enjoy writing. Putting words together in a way that makes the reader want to read is always my goal and I love it when a sentence comes together beautifully. A sentence that makes me want to read it over again and savor the rhythm and thought process behind it. It makes writing worth while.

I remember how excited I was when I hit blog posting number 50 in August 2009 (http://www.julianemarie.com/?p=261). I filled the blog with deep and profound thoughts. Well, sort of. I just re-read it and I think I took the deep literally and used the word “profound” a little to liberally. Oh well.

Now here I am at 500. Older, definitely. Wiser, possibly. But still trying to be deep and profound. Sometimes I succeed. Many times…not so much. But hopefully always entertaining.
