A few thoughts on a Saturday night:
– I read a book in two days this past week. It was “The Lost Wife”. I’ll have to comment further on it in a future posting. Not right now though because I need to get my head around it. It was very powerful and absorbing.
– I attended a Craft Day at my church this morning. The first one I have gone to in years. We made bags that people can put on their walkers at the Veterans Home and at a local nursing home. It involved sewing and I haven’t sewn anything since I was a child. My mother was an incredible seamstress and learning to sew from her was somewhat intimidating. Anyway, what she did manage to teach me came back to me this morning and I actually remembered the basics of sewing, after some gentle reminders from the leader of our project. It was so much fun! I learned so much and really enjoyed taking raw materials and ending up with a beautiful bag that someone can use to carry stuff when they are using their walker. It was creative, gratifying and a very satisfying way to spend a morning.
– I can’t believe that next week is the last full week of October! Where has this year disappeared to??? It’s colder out, the days are shorter and time is just slipping away. I have so much I need to get accomplished before the end of the year. I hope I get it all done!
That said, time for bed. Hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful fall weekend! Remember the snow will start flying soon enough so enjoy this while you can!
