These are some thoughts for today but also some follow-ups to previous postings:
– There is something seriously wrong when it is August 15th and I have to wear sweat pants and a light sweater because of the chilly breeze coming in the window. Yes, I could close my windows but my theory is that in August the windows should be open unless they are closed because the air conditioner is on. I refuse to close them just because it is chilly and rainy outside. It just goes against the way August should be experienced.
– Cupid the Cat was having such a great time on Saturday and Sunday playing with his catnip mouse that I bought him two more while I was at church yesterday morning. We still had some crafts available for sale from the Blueberry Festival so I bought him two more mice so that when he completely tore apart the first mouse, he would have a couple of extra ones to play with one at a time until he has torn all three to shreds. Since then, though, he has kind of lost interest in it and I don’t think he has touched it at all today. Oh well. Maybe he managed to get the catnip out of it since it does have a big hole in it with stuffing coming out. I think I will hang on to the other two mice (they are safely stored in a ziplock bag in my dresser in my bedroom) rather than give him a new one right away. That way it will be a treat for him sometime in the future.
– I saw the news report on our Blueberry Festival. Yes, the cameraman managed to catch me when I didn’t notice he was filming me. I did duck him when he was in one part of the hall but he went around the other side and I didn’t see him. Otherwise I would have gone into the kitchen until he was done. Oh well. Can’t do anything about it now.
– Another thing I bought at the craft part of the Blueberry Festival was a little fabric coin purse. The first one I bought was made of material that had money printed on it ($5 and $10). So it looks like money but it isn’t money. It has three compartments on the inside that are just big enough for my driver’s license, my main debit card and cash. I like it so much I bought two more. One I am using for the rest of my cards and the other I am using for my business cards. My purse is much lighter with the three coin purses in it rather than my wallet. I LOVE my pink wallet (it has love letters printed on it) but I have been concerned it might be getting worn out. So I have put it away for now. I will start using it again if the coin purses become ratty looking or worn. The other good thing about the coin purse is that it fits nicely in my pocket so I don’t have to carry my purse when I go shopping. I can just put my phone in one pocket and my keys and coin purse in the other. Very convenient!
I think that is all for a rainy Monday night. A rainy day and Monday. It’s like a double whammy of depression. Unless you are an eternal optimist like me who is seeing the rain as needed to make the lake level rise so my brother and I can go boating. So having it rain is a good thing. Having it be Monday is a good thing so we can get it out of the way before the end of the week when we want to go boating again. So it isn’t a double whammy of depression. It is actually a good thing all the way around!
