Soccer and Book

I finished my book this afternoon while watching the World Cup on ESPN.

The book ended great! Very suspenseful…kept me guessing right to the end and beyond.  I want to know what happens next. Grisham probably won’t write a sequel to the book but, if he did, I would read it.

The soccer game was awesome! I’m not the greatest sports fan in the world but I can appreciate a wonderful sporting event. And this really was an awesome game. I was really hoping the American women would win but I’m happy for the Japanese. They have been through so much they deserve some happiness and joy.

How could I do both at the same time? Reading and watching? The advantage to having a DVR is that I could read my book and, when I heard the crowd go wild, I could re-wind and see the action I just missed. I finished the book a little over half way through the game so I did watch the last part in real time. Although I did re-wind when someone scored just because it happened so fast and I wanted to see it more than the one time that the network re-wound it.

All in all, it was a great Sunday. Something really exciting to watch on TV and a great and satisfying book to read. Weather was too hot to hang out outside so being inside with air conditioning was just perfect. All together a wonderful day!
