There have been some items in the news that I feel compelled to comment about:
-
Casey Anthony was acquitted for murdering her daughter. So that is it. We need to let it go. For all those people who are on the “news” shows and are making comments that justice wasn’t served and justice should be served, do you really think that is a wise thing to say? No one knows what happened to Caylee except the person who killed her and Caylee herself. If the jury didn’t find enough reason to convict Casey, then it is dangerous, if you are blessed to have a microphone in front of your face, to get angry and riled up about it. Because someone will take you serious, some deranged person, and they could easily take matters into their own hands and kill Casey. Then you, you with the microphone, will be culpable in the murder of someone who was deemed not guilty by our judicial system. Do you really want to risk that? Do you really want to be charged with accessory to murder because you influenced someone to commit murder? The best thing is to just let it go. If Casey was guilty and really did kill her daughter, God will handle it. When she dies and has to face judgement, God will take care of it. And He will know the truth and won’t fall for Casey’s lies.

Who decides what is newsworthy on a national level and what isn’t newsworthy? An Amtrak Downeaster train hit a truck in North Berwick, Maine this week and it never reached the national news. The truck driver died, the train was on fire, trash was strewn everywhere (it was a semi truck hauling trash) and the grass was on fire up and down the tracks. No one was killed on the train but people were injured. It was all over the news here in Maine but not a word was mentioned on the national news on TV. There was a brief mention in the on-line news but that was it. A truck hit a train in Nevada a little while ago and that hit the national news. I guess we had to receive the news that they are fighting in Washington over the debt, Californians are going to be inconvenienced by a highway being shut down for 57 hours this next weekend and, oh, what else, a Marine asked an actress to a ball on YouTube. Yeah. Important stuff there.

Speaking of the arguing going on in Washington. I do understand the importance of the national debt and raising the debt ceiling. I do get it. But do the powers that be get that the more they argue about this, the more they sound like squabbling children who are in need of a time out? Just saying.

Oh and one comment on the “carmageddon” in California this weekend: if you have been watching Falling Skies on TNT, and I highly recommend that you do (AWESOME show), you should be thankful that you are only be inconvenienced for 57 hours over the course of one weekend. After all, we could have been attacked by aliens, all our electronics wiped out and our children enslaved. So count your blessings, stay home and enjoy the nice summer weekend!
Those are the news comments that have been accumulating in my brain over the course of the last several days. If more accumulates, I will write more. Otherwise my brain might become overloaded and shut down and then I have to re-boot and that is just a pain. Just saying….
