A few thoughts on a rainy Monday:
– I’m feeling much better than I did last week. I haven’t fully recovered because I am still congested and still feel pretty run down. But I am able to sleep through the night, I don’t cough as much and I haven’t had a significant fever for about 36 hours. Not to jinx anything but I think I may have dodged the pneumonia bullet once again!
– Cupid the cat is most definitely a cat of little brain. He keeps hanging out in front of the refrigerator looking for the mouse. He doesn’t seem to remember that I kicked the mouse out the door. OR he is stalking another mouse. EWWW…. I hope not, although I will deal with that one the way I dealt with his friend. If Cupid manages to catch it and I am home and able to separate him from his little live toy. I can’t believe that I have lived in this old place for over a decade and this is the first time I have had a mouse in the house. That’s a pretty good run of being mouse free, if you ask me!
– My upstairs neighbors are being evicted today. Too much noise and partying. I hope they don’t retaliate against me because it is pretty obvious who didn’t like the noise and partying, although it bothered the other tenants as well. Its not that I have anything against people having a good time. But when the sub woofer is so loud all I hear is this constant loud thumping right over my head and when their dog barks non-stop for hours when they leave the apartment and they like to stomp on the floor (my ceiling) and run up and down the outside steps by my windows until 1:30 or so in the morning…then that is not having a good time as much as it is being inconsiderate and rude. I especially liked their excuses when I would call them and ask them to keep it down: “I have a really big stereo and I like this song”, “The dog has to be in a cage while we are gone” and “I am up until 1:30 at night”. Ok – but I don’t care if your stereo is big or that you like that song, turn it down or turn it off; it is cruel to keep a dog locked up like that so he barks continually for four hours, not to mention disturbs everyone in the building; and I don’t care that you are up until 1:30, the rest of us have to work (unlike you who lives on unemployment) and we need it quiet after 9:00 at night! Anyway, they are soon to be gone. Yeah!!
– “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down”. Well, not always but definitely today. It is cold, wet and miserable outside and I am back at work facing piles of paperwork since I didn’t work much last week. Sigh.
I think that is all to note this morning. One final thought, the first day of spring is less than two weeks away and Daylight Savings Times starts next Sunday!!
