Happy Memorial Day!
Just wanted to say that before getting to the purpose of this posting. Since it is Memorial Day, I didn’t have to work and was able to spend the whole day indoors. I know that I should have probably been out enjoying the beautiful weather (slightly diminished by the smoke drifting down from Canada from the wild fires in Quebec) but I did so much running around the past couple of days, it has been nice to spend a day indoors. I was able to get one of the power points done for church this next weekend, I cleaned my bedroom and my medicine cabinet, watched a little TV and made a batch of spaghetti sauce. Very productive for a lazy kind of day.
While I was working on the power point, I went into the kitchen to check on the sauce and I noticed that my neighbor had rinsed off my van. I stuck my head out the door and thanked him and he said that it had been all covered with pollen. I pointed out that it was just going to get dusted with pollen tomorrow but I do appreciate the effort. He then proceeded to soap it down with a long brush and then rinse it again. He was about half way done when he called for me to come outside so I could move the van farther down in the driveway. The hose just wasn’t reaching around to the other side. So I moved it and he finished the job. I thanked him again after I put it back in its spot and he said it was no problem. He had been washing his truck and his boat anyway and my van was right there. Still it was very nice of him. He is the same guy who gave me all the fish last summer (see this post: http://www.julianemarie.com/?p=726). He is just a decent guy who looks out for us and is kind and generous.
Between my neighbor being so nice and having a day to spend hanging around the house, it has been a glorious Memorial Day! Hope your holiday was equally as glorious!
